Scripture:
2 Kings 6:16-17 - Elisha said, “Don’t be afraid, for those who are with us outnumber those who are with them.” 17 Then Elisha prayed, “Lord, please open his eyes and let him see.” So the Lord opened the servant’s eyes. He looked and saw that the mountain was covered with horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Reflection:
Elisha's calm assurance in God's protective power provides a stunning insight into the invisible realities God commands.

Devotional:
In the midst of a dire threat, Elisha remained unshaken because his eyes were open to God's mighty power—the heavenly hosts surrounding him. Yahweh Tseva'oth had His armies arrayed for battle, a reassuring presence against any earthly force. For us, knowing that the same God who commanded armies of fire watches over us should inspire confidence and peace, even in our most anxious moments.

Reflection Questions:
How can Elisha's experience encourage you in your moments of fear?
What does it mean to you that "those who are with us are more than those who are with them"?

Prayer:
Lord, open my eyes to see Your protective presence. Let me rest in the assurance that Your heavenly hosts are always surrounding me. Amen.
