WHO WERE THE 12 DISCIPLES?
Mark 3:14-19- He also appointed 12—He also named them apostles—to be with Him, to send them out to preach, 15 and to have authority to drive out demons. 16 He appointed the Twelve: To Simon, He gave the name Peter; 17 and to James the son of Zebedee, and to his brother John, 18 Andrew; Philip and Bartholomew; Matthew (Levi) and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot, 19 and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A DISCIPLE OF JESUS?
μαθητής (mathētēs) - disciple, learner.
Used of a person who follows after and seeks to learn from another. A disciple is not only a partaker of information, but also one who seeks to become like his or her teacher. In this way, discipleship is about modifying one’s entire lifestyle.

FOLLOW ME ἀκολουθέω (akoloutheō) follow
Figuratively, refers to the process of following someone as a disciple. This word literally refers to following after someone physically.

RABBI - TEACHER, MASTER
(Heb. rabbi, “my teacher”). A respectful term applied by the Jews to their teachers and spiritual instructors (Matt. 23:7–8; John 1:38; 3:26; 6:25). The terms rabbi and rabboni both mean simply “master” (John 1:38; 20:16).
