Not Forgotten

Genesis 40:1-8 - After this, the Egyptian king’s cupbearer and baker offended their master, the king of Egypt. 2 Pharaoh was angry with his two officers, the chief cupbearer and the chief baker, 3 and put them in custody in the house of the captain of the guard in the prison where Joseph was confined. 4 The captain of the guard assigned Joseph to them, and he became their personal attendant. And they were in custody for some time. 5 The Egyptian king’s cupbearer and baker, who were confined in the prison, each had a dream. Both had a dream on the same night, and each dream had its own meaning. 6 When Joseph came to them in the morning, he saw that they looked distraught. 7 So he asked Pharaoh’s officers who were in custody with him in his master’s house, “Why do you look so sad today?” 8 “We had dreams,” they said to him, “but there is no one to interpret them.” Then Joseph said to them, “Don’t interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.”

Genesis 40:14-5,20-23 - 14 But when all goes well for you, remember that I was with you. Please show kindness to me by mentioning me to Pharaoh, and get me out of this prison. 15 For I was kidnapped from the land of the Hebrews, and even here I have done nothing that they should put me in the dungeon.” 20 On the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, he gave a feast for all his servants. He lifted up the heads of the chief cupbearer and the chief baker. 21 Pharaoh restored the chief cupbearer to his position as cupbearer, and he placed the cup in Pharaoh’s hand. 22 But Pharaoh hanged the chief baker, just as Joseph had explained to them. 23 Yet the chief cupbearer did not remember Joseph; he forgot him.

WHEN WE FEEL FORGOTTEN BY OTHERS IT’S EASY TO FORGET OUR GOD-GIVEN PURPOSE AND IDENTITY.

Deuteronomy 31:8 - The Lord is the One who will go before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.

OUR IDENTITY IS FOUND IN WHAT GOD'S WORD DECLARES OVER US, IN HIS SALVATION GIVEN TO US AND IN HIS SPIRIT WORKING THROUGH US.

BREAKTHROUGH HAPPENS WHEN WE REMAIN FAITHFUL THROUGH OUR BREAKING POINTS.

2 Corinthians 1:4-5 - God comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 5 For as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so through Christ our comfort also overflows.

Hebrews 12:3 - For consider {Jesus} who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, so that you won’t grow weary and lose heart.

EVEN IN OUR BREAKING POINT—JESUS IS STILL LORD. EVEN WHEN OUR PLANS FALL APART—GOD’S PLANS PREVAIL.
