Scripture:
Nehemiah 2:17-20
Come, let’s rebuild Jerusalem’s wall, so that we will no longer be a disgrace.”
18 … They said, “Let’s start rebuilding,” and they were encouraged to do this good work.
20… “The God of heaven is the One who will grant us success. We, His servants, will start building
Reflection:
Rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls wasn’t a solo mission. Nehemiah’s burden became a shared vision as the people rallied together to accomplish God’s work. The pastor emphasized that bold moves require community effort. Just as Nehemiah inspired others to join the mission, the church is strongest when its members unite to gather, build, and go.
Each of us has a role to play in God’s kingdom. Whether it’s through giving, serving, or encouraging others, our contributions matter. The success of the church’s mission depends on the collective effort of its people, rooted in a shared burden to reach the “not-yets” and serve the community.
Application:
Pray about how you can partner with others in your church to advance God’s mission. Commit to joining a ministry, small group, or giving campaign. Encourage someone else to take part in the work God is doing.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the gift of community and the opportunity to build Your kingdom together. Unite us as Your people and show me how I can contribute to the work You are doing. May our collective efforts bring glory to Your name and transform lives for Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Questions for Reflection:
1. How can you actively participate in your church’s mission this week?
2. Who can you encourage to join you in building God’s kingdom?
