Scripture:
Genesis 41:29-30
"There will be seven years of great abundance in the whole land of Egypt. After them, seven years of famine will take place, and all the abundance in the land of Egypt will be forgotten."
Philippians 4:12–13
"I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am... I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me."
Devotional:
Pharaoh’s dream wasn’t just a warning—it was an opportunity. God revealed what was coming so Egypt could prepare. But preparation required wisdom and discipline. The years of favor had to be stewarded, not squandered.
Joseph knew this. He didn’t see abundance as the destination. He saw it as a setup for stewardship. And because he was faithful in the years of plenty, Egypt survived the years of famine.
You don’t know what season is next. But God does. That’s why how you handle blessing matters. Favor isn’t just to be enjoyed—it’s to be invested. Whether it’s finances, relationships, rest, influence, or spiritual growth—store what God gives. Don’t waste the abundance assuming it will always be there.
Paul echoes this in Philippians: true contentment is not found in abundance or lack—it’s found in Christ. He’s the source in both seasons. And with Him, we are equipped for whatever comes.
Prayer:
God, teach me to steward my current season well. Help me resist the temptation to waste what You’ve given me. Whether I’m in abundance or lack, teach me to be content, faithful, and prepared. My strength and security are found in You alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
