Scripture:
"Encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing."
— 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Reflection:
In Nehemiah 3, we see that no one built the walls alone. Over and over, we read about people working next to one another, encouraging and strengthening each other in the mission. Just as Nehemiah gathered people to build the walls, God calls us to encourage and support those around us as they step into their bold roles.
Often, we focus so much on our own fears and doubts that we forget others need encouragement too. There are people in your church, workplace, and family who are hesitant about stepping into their calling. They need someone to come alongside them and say, "You can do this. God is with you. Keep going."
Encouragement is one of the most powerful gifts we can give. It reminds people that:
 • They are not alone in their struggles.
 • God is working through them, even when they don’t see it.
 • Their obedience matters for the kingdom of God.
The pastor emphasized how important it is for the church to create opportunities for connection—small groups, prayer groups, mentorship, and serving teams. These spaces allow us to stand next to one another, pray for each other, and help each other stay committed to the mission.
Think about the people in your life. Who needs encouragement right now? Who is stepping into a bold role but struggling with doubt? You could be the voice God uses to strengthen them.

Application:
 • Identify at least one person in your church, workplace, or friend group who needs encouragement. Reach out to them today—send a text, make a call, or pray for them.
 • If you are in a leadership role, take intentional time to encourage those you serve with. Remind them of their value and impact.
 • Commit to becoming an encourager. Whether through mentoring, praying for others, or simply offering words of affirmation, make encouragement a regular practice in your faith journey.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the people You have placed next to me in my faith journey. Help me to be an encourager—to build up, strengthen, and support those around me. Give me words of wisdom and love to share with those who need it. Use me to remind others of their worth, calling, and purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Questions for Reflection:
 1. Who in your life needs encouragement today?
 2. How can you intentionally build up and strengthen those around you?
 3. Have you ever received encouragement that helped you step into your calling? How did it impact you?

Final Thoughts
As we conclude this week's devotionals, reflect on these truths:
 • You have a bold role in God's kingdom.
 • You are not alone—God has placed people next to you for support.
 • You must take action—faith requires stepping out of your comfort zone.
 • You can encourage others—someone needs your support and words of affirmation.
Take time this week to pray over the role God is calling you to. What bold step will you take today? Will you strengthen your relationships? Step into leadership? Commit to encouraging others? Whatever it is, move forward in faith, trusting that God will equip you every step of the way.
Let’s boldly go together!
