Scripture Reading: Job 1:12, 1:18-19
Job 1:12, 16, 18 -the Lord told Satan, “everything he owns is in your power. However, you must not lay a hand on Job himself.”

Job 1:16 - A lightning storm struck from heaven. It burned up the sheep and the servants and devoured them

Job 1:18 - 19 Suddenly a powerful wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on the young people so that they died

Devotional
Job’s story shows us how the enemy operates within boundaries permitted by God. Satan used natural forces—lightning and a windstorm—to inflict devastation on Job’s life. Despite these tragedies, Job remained steadfast, refusing to sin or blame God. This underscores a critical truth: while Satan’s influence is significant, it is not unlimited.
The storms in Job’s life remind us that the enemy’s attacks are not always overtly spiritual. He often operates subtly, manipulating circumstances to stir doubt, fear, or despair. However, these storms also serve as opportunities to deepen our faith and reliance on God.
We must also examine the internal storms caused by our own sin. While external attacks are real, the sin within us often provides an open door for the enemy’s influence. Gossip, envy, pride, and greed can stir turmoil within, creating storms that disrupt our peace and testimony.

Application
 1. Recognize the Enemy’s Boundaries
 ○ Take comfort in knowing that Satan’s power is limited and operates under God’s sovereignty.
 2. Confront Internal Sin Storms
 ○ Reflect on areas of your life where sin may be stirring chaos. Commit to repentance and seek God’s help to rebuke these influences.
 3. Strengthen Your Spiritual Defenses
 ○ Regularly spend time in prayer and Scripture to guard your heart and mind against the enemy’s tactics.

Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that You are in control, even when storms rage around me. Expose the sin in my heart that invites chaos and help me rebuke it with the authority You have given me. Keep me steadfast and faithful as I navigate life’s trials. In Jesus' name, Amen.
