Welcome to the second day of our devotional series. Today, let's delve into the theme of overcoming fear through faith, using the example of Ananias' boldness in healing Saul.
Scripture:
Acts 9:13-14,17 - "Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard from many people about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem. 14 And he has authority here from the chief priests to arrest all who call on Your name.” 17 So Ananias left and entered the house. Then he placed his hands on him and said, 'Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road you were traveling, has sent me so that you can regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.'"
Ananias demonstrated faith over fear by boldly obeying God's call to heal Saul, despite his initial reservations and fear of Saul's past actions.
From the Sermon:
"Faith helps us overcome fear and leads to forgiveness and healing."
Consider moments in your life where you needed faith to overcome fear. Reflect on how Ananias' faith paved the way for healing and forgiveness in Saul's life. How can you apply this principle in your relationships?
Scripture Meditation:
Read Acts 9:13,14,17 again and meditate on the faith Ananias exhibited.
Reflection Questions:
When have you faced fear and needed faith to overcome it?
In what ways can you demonstrate faith over fear in your current challenges?
Closing Prayer:
Heavenly Father, grant us the faith to overcome our fears and boldly follow Your guidance. Help us extend forgiveness and healing to those we might fear or harbor reservations about. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
