Trusting Our Sovereign King

Scripture: Psalm 97:2-6 - 2 Clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. 3 Fire goes before Him and burns up His foes on every side. 4 His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles. 5 The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the Lord— at the presence of the Lord of all the earth. 6 The heavens proclaim His righteousness; all the peoples see His glory.

Reflection:
Psalm 97 paints a vivid picture of God's sovereignty and power. "Clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him and burns up His foes on every side" (Psalm 97:2-3). These verses remind us that God is not only our Creator but also our Sovereign King, reigning with righteousness and justice.

The imagery of mountains melting like wax at the presence of the Lord (Psalm 97:5) is a powerful reminder of God's unmatched power. No matter the size of the problems we face, they are insignificant compared to God's might. He is capable of moving or melting any mountain in our lives.
