Devotional Day 1: Recognizing the Wrong Side
Introduction:
Welcome to Day 1 of our devotional series based on the Wayfinding Episode 2 - Redirection. Today, we'll focus on recognizing when we find ourselves on the wrong side.
Scripture:
Acts 8:1-2 - "Saul agreed with putting him to death. On that day a severe persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout the land of Judea and Samaria."
Main Point:
Reflect on a time in your life when you found yourself affirming or aligning with something contrary to God's will. Saul was on the wrong side, endorsing actions against the Church. Acknowledge and confess any instances where you may have stood on the wrong side.
Quote from the Sermon:
"As Saul affirmed the persecution, he was on the wrong side, going the wrong way, doing the wrong things. Jesus (redirects) who we are, how we are acting, and what we aspire to."
Devotional Reflection:
Consider the consequences of Saul's affirmation. How did it impact the Church? Reflect on your past affirmations that may have led you away from God's path. Take a moment to repent and seek redirection from Jesus.
Challenge:
Read Acts 8:1-2 again. Spend time in prayer, asking God to reveal areas where you might be affirming the wrong side. Ponder on how Jesus can redirect your affirmations to align with His will.
Closing Prayer:
Dear Lord, open our eyes to any wrong affirmations in our lives. Redirect us, like Saul, from endorsing actions that go against Your purposes. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
