In the beginning darkness covered the earth. God said let there be light and there was light and it was good. And he separated the light from the darkness. (Gen 1:1-4) Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared before some shepherds and darkness was replaced with light--- shining the light of God's glory--bringing news that the Messiah was born. (Luke 2:8-9) Meanwhile, Wise men from the east saw a bright light shining in the darkness of night and for many days they followed the stars gleam and glisten to come and worship at the feet of the newborn King. (Matt 2:2) Life was in this Newborn King and that life was the light of men. And that light shines in the darkness and the darkness can not overcome it. (John 1:4-5) As darkness set off to persecute men & women of light, a light shone all around the darkness, brighter then the sun at midday, and darkness fell to the ground, hearing a voice saying, "Why are you persecuting me"? In this moment, the blind eyes of one man were opened by the truth from the Light and He sent him out to open the eyes of the multitudes to turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. (Acts 26:13-18) Proclaiming to all that Jesus is the light of the world and everyone who believes in Him will not remain in darkness. (John 12:46) For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, to become the light of the world, so that none would perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
In the beginning, God spoke, and light pierced through the darkness, separating it. The birth of Jesus, marked by the appearance of angels to shepherds and a guiding star for wise men, brought light into the world. This light, Jesus Himself, would later confront Paul in a dramatic encounter, breaking through the darkness of sin and pride."
In every new beginning, the light of Jesus is the catalyst for transformation.
