Scripture: Matthew 20:26-28 - Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave; 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life—a ransom for many.

Reflection: Jesus came not to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many. Our service within the church should reflect this attitude of humility and selflessness.

Devotional: Jesus’ life is the ultimate example of service. In Matthew 20, He tells His disciples that He came not to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many. This selfless service is what we are called to emulate in our lives and within our church community.
Serving others is a powerful way to reflect Christ’s love. It demonstrates humility, compassion, and a willingness to put others’ needs before our own. When we serve with this attitude, we not only meet practical needs but also touch hearts and lives with the love of Christ.

Reflection Questions:
    1. How can you reflect Christ’s love through your service in the church?
    2. What attitudes or actions might you need to change to serve more selflessly?

Practical Application:
    • Look for opportunities to serve in ways that reflect Christ’s love. This could be through acts of kindness, providing support, or simply being present for someone in need.
    • Regularly examine your motives for serving. Ask God to help you serve with a pure heart, free from selfish ambitions.

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for Your example of selfless service. Help me to reflect Your love in my service to others. Teach me to serve with humility and compassion, putting others’ needs before my own. Amen.
