Scripture:
Acts 27:14-15,18-22- 14 a fierce wind called the “northeaster” rushed down from the island. 15 Since the ship was caught and was unable to head into the wind, we gave way to it and were driven along.

v18 Because we were being severely battered by the storm, they began to jettison the cargo the next day. 19 On the third day, they threw the ship’s gear overboard with their own hands. 20 For many days neither sun nor stars appeared, and the severe storm kept raging. Finally all hope that we would be saved was disappearing. 21 Since many were going without food, Paul stood up among them and said, “You men should have followed my advice not to sail from Crete and sustain this damage and loss. 22 Now I urge you to take courage, because there will be no loss of any of your lives, but only of the ship.

Devotional:
In life, storms of circumstances can often catch us off guard, much like the northeaster that Paul and his companions faced on their journey. These storms may manifest as unexpected challenges, delays, or hardships. In Acts 27, Paul warned the crew of the impending danger, advising them to reconsider their course. Similarly, God may use storms in our lives to reveal the unnecessary baggage we carry—burdens, regrets, or past mistakes. These storms, though challenging, can serve as opportunities for us to let go of what weighs us down. As you face the storms of circumstances, seek God's guidance to discern what needs to be jettisoned, trusting that He can use these trials for your growth and His glory.

Reflection Questions:
What storms of circumstances are you currently facing or have faced recently?
Do you sense that God might be revealing something in these storms that needs to be removed from your life?
How can you trust God's guidance to navigate through these storms?

Prayer:
Dear God, help me discern the purpose in the storms I face. Open my eyes to see what needs to be removed from my life, and give me the strength to trust Your guidance in navigating through these challenges. Amen.
